- I have been waiting for this book to come, out and I love it! I am an experienced quilter and this book is great for quilters of all stages, even brand new beginner quilters! Lots of patterns and tips!
- Love this book because you can make all these patterns from small pieces, not just charms.
- This book is by far the best charm pack themed book I've experienced and enjoyed in a very long time. As soon as my book arrived I was ready to start working one of the quilts. The instructions were excellent and easy to follow. I could go on and on but instead I'm going to suggest that 'you' purchase the book and have the same fun I've been having.
- This book is amazing! The quilt patterns inside are beautiful and fun to piece! I already made one quilt and am working on two more. The best thing about the patterns is the directions they are excellently written and easy to follow. Another thing I really love about the patterns is that there are fabric options listed in addition to charm packs. Ms. Goertzen is a talented quilter and writer. Grab this book and some charm packs and get quilting!
- Great book and great patterns. From easy to intermediate. Even though the book is about using charm packs I love how the author includes cuthing instructions for fat quarters or scraps alternatively. It makes the patterns really flexible. You will enjoy this.
- I really like this charm square book! First, I have to admit to being a charm square collector! I just love these little squares with all the different prints and colors. But I had to stop, I had boxes of them and wasn't sure exactly how I would use them. I didn't want to make an ordinary quilt with the squares all lined up one after another, but I didn't want to make a very time consuming one either, with all the bells and whistles. This book was the solution! There are 18 quilts here, every one very nice. The first one I tried was "Railroad Crossing" on page 30. Extremely simple! And truly delightful when all put together and quilted. Next came Tipsy, page 110. I have made a tipsy quilt or two in the past and found them to be so much fun! You can do anything with this pattern, use any cute print in the middle square of the block. Once I used monkeys in trees and a jungle print for the star points. It was adorable. It may look a bit tricky to beginners, but the steps are laid out clearly and if you follow them one by one carefully, you'll find it's really fairly easy. This book is subtitled "A Beginner's Guide" and I think that's pretty accurate. But old timers will find it to be just as useful. There are a couple of others I'm going to start on soon. On page 76 there's one called Rock Star that uses lots of half square triangles. Great to practice that technique and beautiful when finished. Another is so beautiful. I'm just dying to get to it. Madame Butterfly page 66. A bit more challenging, I think, with many parts. But SO worth it. Delicate and sweet. Any girl of any age would love it. I guess you can see why I gave this five stars. It's one of my favorite quilt pattern/instruction books. I feel sure you'll love it too.
- I take my scraps that are small enough and cut them into 5" squares. This is a great book for using those or purchased precuts. I purchased the Version and I love it!
- I bought this for a fellow quilter and ended up buying another for me. I love the quilts in this book and the instructions were easy enough that this beginner could follow.
